Julie Stralow
Assistant Director
Mrs. Stralow is in her 18th year at Coppell High School as a teacher and director. She is originally from Richmond, Texas and is a former member and Colonel of the Stephen F. Austin High School Angels Dance Team. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Modern Dance at Texas Christian University and danced professionally with Contemporary Dance Fort Worth for several years. Mrs. Stralow came to CHS in 2003 as a long-term substitute for the Lariette director and was hired the next year as the Silver Stars JV director and dance teacher. Within that year she became director of both teams and eventually was named the Director of the Lariettes. Under the direction of Mrs. Stralow the Lariettes have seen some growth and changes. Some of the most notable changes included bringing back boots to football season, making sleeves removable from the field uniform, and adding a second look that blends the JV and varsity uniforms together.
Mrs. Stralow was also the first to introduce the Larry’s to the Homecoming halftime in 2005. She is very happy to see so many ideas come to light and continue as Lariette tradition, but she is most proud of how the team has grown in their passion and versatility. Lariettes went from a very traditional military drill team to a dance team that can do anything from high kick to hip hop. In 2018 Mrs. Stralow made the decision to step down as director to allow herself more time for family. She is thrilled to be the assistant director for her long-time friend and fellow dance teacher, Mrs. Mitchell. Mrs. Stralow is married to Coach Stralow who is the Head Football Coach and Boys Athletic Coordinator at Keller High School. They have 2 daughters – Morgan and Reagan.
